You should definitely drop in at the barasti coffeehouse near Mina Saqr, even though it's a bit smelly (it's the lagoon's fault!)... Last time I've been there, some locals invited me to join them playing backgammon, drinking coffee (they're drinking it like it was water...) and (of course) puffing on sheesha. you shouldn't refuse them, 'cause you won't get bored. And you could also try the Gulf Cinema (they show English-language films and a ticket costs Dh20). I had fun then.
