Traveling by taxi around Dubai

Taxis are quite a popular way to travel around Dubai and you won't wait too long for one- there are several modern taxi companies in Dubai. Fares are 3Dh plus 1.43Dh per km rising to 3.50Dh plus 1.70Dh between 10 pm and 6 am. Keep some smaller notes or coins handy as the drivers don’t always return the change. Take a taxi from Cars Taxi, Dubai Transport Company, Metro Taxi and National Taxi and avoid getting into an unmarked car. There are also small vans from City Taxi service which pick up and drop off passengers anywhere on a fixed route for a price of 5Dh.
