Leaving dirham tips at the restaurants of Dubai

Posted 1 year ago by rohn in response to sonny's question: Can someone give me a hint on local customs such as tipping and something about the bills? (give a different answer) .

Well, Dubai's restaurants add a service charge on the bill, so tips are not generally expected; but if you get good service and want to leave a tip, 10% is sufficient. Don’t leave it if the waiter doesn’t serve you well. The UAE money called dirham (DH) is divided into 100 fils. Bank notes are 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500 and 1000Dh and there are also coins of 1Dh and 5, 10, 25 and 50 fils. UAE dirham is pegged to the US dollar at an exchange rate of Dh 3.67 per USD.
