You can exchange your money at the airport, but the rates are best in town: in central Deira around Baniyas Sq or along Sikkat al-Khail St and in Bur Dubai around the abra dock, every building here seems to house a bank or a moneychanger. Though moneychangers have better rates than banks they don’t take travellers cheques. ATMs are all over Dubai, at malls, banks, up market hotels and Visa, MasterCard and American Express are accepted at most of the shops, hotels and restaurants.
