Hanging out at Velvet Lounge of Dubai

I used to hang out at Velvet Lounge - it's a 70's style decorated cocktail bar with red velvet sofas, heavy drapes, a mirrored ceiling and lots of gilt. It's quite interesting and popular for both locals and tourists. The official opening hours are from 7 pm to 1 am but nights are very different here: sometimes it's DJ disco night, in other times there is a more sedate atmosphere or, the worst possible, it's closed too early. The bar location is Al-Khaleej Palace Hotel.
